This needlepoint carpet pattern is an authentic reproduction of an 15th c. antique Turkish carpet from Konya.

The dragon motifs on this rug are arranged to form a tree of life.  The bird motifs, placed above symbolizes life.  The hand on hips motifs, stand for fertility. Hooks are used against the evil eye.

The border is decorated with figures resembling Kufic cript.
